I love the deep blue of the water. It’s both inviting and riveting. The boat and fisherman are vaguely drawn. Maybe it could use more morning mist to swallow them and make them “fit” the scene.
The shore is interesting, curving with the lake. I would have left the undergrowth and tree out or used them to define the bank more.
All in all, I like it better than the church. It’s more peaceful and seems real.
