Yes, the same words representing very different events of my life from the simplicity of driving on black ice, to the army of nut crackers to keep Joseph’s dreams safe and fears at bay, and finally, cracking past blackened ice to allow sunlight to pass. Thank you Claudia for observing the subtleties of the poem and commenting.

Joseph has been collecting nut crackers for the last few Christmas seasons. He has one on a rocking horse that is my favorite with the Jester being a close second. Joseph says his favorite is the tallest (about three feet.)
